He was not in a hurry to just do the procedure but took the time to explain things and answer all my questions. His assistants were very kind and professional. I was so nervous about my squamous cell lesion on my leg as well as my basal cell spot near my ankle. He is so compassionate, calm and generous with his time in the exam room. His wife who assisted with my procedures was so kind and wonderful. Kelly worked so hard to get approval for my pet scan. The whole staff make you feel comfortable and at ease. I've never been to such a compassionate physician and supportive staff. I have no worries if another problem area comes up. I know where I can go and have the best care.

Even though I had MOHS surgery before, my previous doctor didn't explain much of anything. I am also very happy with the results. I was thinking that maybe I should follow up with plastic surgery. Everything he did for me worked wonderfully, and he is easily the most knowledgeable physician anyone could ever have. Customer Comment – When I was a teenager I trusted a doctor and had radiation treatments that were supposed to be safe and stop acne concerns. Unfortunately, because of these treatments, I have been fighting facial basil cell skin cancer since the 1990’s. After some very disappointing and expensive (insurance did not cover plastic surgery in those days) results from a leading hospital, I was terrified to continue any care. Since the cancer was very determined and frightning, a fine new dermatologist suggested other Mohs surgeons that had their own clinics. Dr. Stiff was recommended and he and his staff proved to be a blessing. He spent time with me, allayed my fears and built a relationship of trust. I was not seen by a colleague nor did he have someone else do the surgery. He then selected an appropriate plastic surgeon. The first gentleman was an oculofacial specialist who did a outstanding job. I may have 1 tiny scar but totally not noticeable. When my former dermatologist retired, Dr. Stiff sent me to another dermatologist. This doctor has also been very good. I am now recovering from more plastic surgery performed by another doctor suggested by Dr. Stiff and praying for excellent results.
I am a woman who is concerned about how I look, my face is part of my identity. I have been criticized for this, but when I taught school my students were very honest and observant. Whether I am correct or not it is a relief not to have to explain defects any more. Having an understanding, outstanding doctor is important to me. I am very grateful for Dr. Stiff’s choice of surgeons, his concern and his care.

Customer Comment – I don’t typically write reviews, but felt compelled to do so as I felt reading the reviews for the Skin Cancer Center of Southeastern Michigan to be very helpful to me. I want to help others feel comfortable with making the right decision about choosing a doctor. I was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma by my dermatologist, who referred me to Dr. M. Stiff for further treatment. I live in Troy, work in Detroit and figured there had to be quality physicians much closer to work or home. I was looking for convenience. Still, “cancer” is a scary prospect and shouldn’t I seriously consider the referral given to me by my very trusted dermatologist? I went to Dr. Stiff’s website and read the reviews. I liked what I read and decided this was the right doctor for me. Having completed my treatment, I decided to write a review to express my complete satisfaction. What do I say? I decided to re-read the reviews posted to see what others have said. I could not agree more with what these patients have stated. Dr. Stiff and his staff are amazing. Honestly. Take note that Dr. Stiff truly is the leading Mohs surgeons in Michigan. Also take note when others have stated “The entire office was wonderful and extremely compassionate towards me. “, because that is exactly how I felt. I feel very fortunate that I was given the referral to Dr. Stiff. Don’t let distance or convenience of location deter you from choosing the right doctor!

Customer Comment – Dr. Stiff removed a cancerous mole from my right cheek on July 9, 2015. First good news: the biopsy showed that all of the cancerous tissue was removed. Second good news (August 27, 2015): Dr. Stiff’s advice about how to heal the incision without stitches resulted in a barely visible scar many times smaller than the original incision.

Customer Comment – I brought my Mother here to see Dr. Stiff as she had a problem with basal cell carcinoma on her nose. I was beyond impressed with how warm and caring their staff was. To top that off, Dr. Stiff took so much time with my Mother and I going over the procedure she was about to go through (Mohs Surgery). He took his time explaining everything very carefully after after he was done with the procedure, he spent a good chunk of time again explaining additional information and also how to dress the wound she had. All in all, it was a most reassuring experience, despite my Mother having cancer cells on her nose. I won't hesitate to recommend this doctor to anyone I come in contact with that needs help with skin cancer issues. I’m a white, fair skinned male with blond hair, who has spent considerable time out of doors in the sun for years; working outside, boating and playing sports. Because of that life style it’s been necessary for me to be treated for skin cancer over the past [34] year period, from 1979 when it was first diagnosed until the present.

From 1979 to 1990 I was seeing a doctor very 6 months and really didn’t realize how little my problem was being addressed and how little he really cared what was being accomplished.

In 1991 I was lucky enough to have a friend recommend Dr. Stiff and the Skin Cancer Center of SE Michigan. That’s when I feel my skin cancer problem began to be taken seriously and treated. Dr. Stiff accomplished more for me in a few visits than the other doctor had accomplished in 11 years. The problem is now under control and has been for some time thanks to Dr Stiff and his excellent staff. who have become like family to me
and my wife. I just don’t feel I could have received such a high degree of care and caring anywhere else.

I can say in all honesty, I highly recommend that any person with skin cancer issues do their self a favor and contact Dr. Stiff and The Skin Cancer Center of SE Michigan. It could be one of the most rewarding calls you’ll ever make for yourself and your skin cancer problems.

He was patiently answered my questions and explained the procedure. He was thorough, intelligent, informative and caring. He even called later in the day to see how I was doing.
